Revlon | Precious

This is a brief review on the Revlon Just Bitten lip stain in Precious. I wont go into detail since I already wrote my review on it here, I'll just mainly talk about the color pay off and my thoughts. Anyway, i had my eye on this nude lip stain for some time now but I always put off buying it since I think the prices are a bit effy. However, they had a special when I got this and I was hoping for a bit more color pay off. Thinking back now I think a better choice for my lips would be Honey which is a bit more mauve. I was hoping for a much lighter version of my MAC's Honey Love lipstick but this lip balm mainly gives me a shine and just a slight color. I'm not too fond of the shine, I think I can pull it off with a matte face or otherwise I look greasy. I don't regret buying it I just think it may look better with someone who has lighter colored lips naturally.

Summer Favorites!

Since I always forget to do a monthly favorite, I decided to redeem myself with doing a Summer favorite! These are the products I've gravitated towards more during this very hot and humid summer. It's safe to say this has not been the summer to cake on make up. The heat here is unbearable and I've been having a lot of skin problems all summer that have me even more stressed. So, I've kept is light. Since there's quite a bit I decided to separate them into categories: Fragrance, Eyes, Face, Cheeks & Lips. Enjoy!
Fragrance:
Dove Go Fresh Body Mist in Cucumber and Green Tea Scent- This is a product I always have with me. It has a unique scent that dries on very sweet and lovely. This is something I spray on during the day to make sure I don't stick up the place. Hah!

Eyes:
MAC Bare Study- Although this is a fairly new product, I couldn't help but add it. This is something I reach for easily 4 or 5 days a week. It's just gives an effortless look and shine to the eyes that I can't get with my eyeshadows. Plus, it has a very good lasting power.

Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara Sample- I got this from a friend who sells Mary Kay. I've been really enjoying the finish this has on my lashes. I have very long natural lashes so I get annoyed when the mascaras elongate them, but this does a great job and getting them nice and dark without making the stupidly long and for a sample it's lasted me a good amount of time.

Face:
Tarte Smoothing Operator- This is by far a holy grail product. I cannot wait to get my hands on a full size of this. This makes my pores small and keeps me matte throughout the day. This little guy is amazing and I cannot comprehend how I didn't know about it sooner. The best part is you only need a pea size amount to cover the WHOLE face!

Clinique Perfectly Real Make Up Foundation- I can definitely say I had neglected this foundation for a long time and fell in love with it all over again. The application is smooth and light, easy to blend in. It gives a nice light-medium coverage that's perfect for this weather.

Cheeks:
MAC Refined Golden Bronzer- I stole this guy from one of my best friend who has a tendency to be a kleptomaniac (hi, brenda!) and needless to say she did not like a taste of her own medicine. Anyway, this bronzer just gives such a delicate glow to the skin with the right amount of gold shimmer. I can cheat and say I went to the beach now!

Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed- This is such an amazing blush that I always carry with me wherever I go. The flush of color it gives looks very natural and soft. The lasting power on this is amazing and goes so well with the bronzer. I couldn't help but reach for it.

Lips:
Korres Wild Rose Lip Balm- It's no secret I'm a fan of matte lipsticks, but with this heat it's also no secret that I've had to drop my lipsticks and go for lip balms to keep my lips moisturized. The Korres lip balm gives me much needed moisture with a lovely hint of color that is greatly appreciated.

Reve de Miel Lip Balm- This guy is the one I use every morning and every night before I go to sleep. This is definitely what has been keeping my lips from cracking too much. It keeps my lips in check and leaves the soft.

Hot Pink Lip Balm- I got this guy at Sephora for $2 on a sale! It gives a lovely shade of sheer pink on the lips when applied and it looks like you ate a lolli pop. It's lovely.

NUXE | Reve de Miel

As some of you may know I have lips that are constantly cracking and let me tell you, it hurts. I've tried many lip care products and either they don't work from the start or they work for a week and then do nothing. I've been getting a bit desperate since my lips hurt when I smile sometimes, so when I heard about NUXE I decided to invest in it and try it. Boy am I happy I did. Even though at first you think "damn, $20 for so little?" it is sooooo worth it. First off, you don't need a lot of product to cover the entire lip so I do see this lasting me a good amount of time. Second, I only use this in the morning and at night before I go to sleep. My lips have improved and hurt less. They are softer and less flaky, which my lipsticks love. This is a product to definitely try if you have chapped lips like I do and are at your breaking point. Yes, it's a bit expensive but it'll be worth it when they help your lips. I'm not a fan of the smell but for the wonders it does I shall tolerate it. Conclusion, this is something I will definitely repurchase and will use F-O-R-E-V-E-R! Too much? Nah!

Revlon | Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains

Hey, guys! I come today with a little review on the highly popular Revlon balm stains going around. These babies have been all the rage in the blogging/youtube world lately and are kind of difficult to get since they're always sold out. After looking at swatches I decided on getting Rendevous and Charm. So without any more interruption here is my review.

These balms have been compared to the Tarte chubby sticks, but even though I don't own the Tarte ones I have swatched them and they're nothing alike. Where the Tarte sticks are more pigmented, the Revlon balm stains are just that...stains. Each balm goes on like a tinted lip balm. As the shades grow deeper so will the pigmentation you'll see when applied. That being said, Rendevous (being more orange) goes on more pigmented than Charm (being more peach). They both have a satin-y finish. They are fairly moisturizing and smell minty. The smell I'm not so fond of, it's a weird mint smell. Leave these guys on for a couple of hours and you'll see the 'Just Bitten' effect. You really look like you were munching on a lollipop. So both of these are perfect for those days you don't want to wear a full on lipstick but wish to have color on your lips.
Rendevous is a muted version of Revlon's Siren. Giving a lovely orange touch for those who fear to go for an all out orange.
Charm is a lovely peach-y nude for those who don't think they can pull off a nude lipstick maybe this would be a color to try.

Revlon Batch

I've been searching for the perfect nude blush and have yet to find one, sadly, but I did get two bits. Both these products are perfect for that spring make-up look. Lately, I've been wearing almost no make-up and these are products I gravitate to. Cream blushes, when used right, give a gorgeous flush of color that looks very natural. Which is why I love this Revlon Rosy Glow blush, it's a lovely muted pink. And for the lips I've been leaning towards either tinted lip balms or nudes, which is why I'm loving the Revlon Lip Balms. In my opinion, they give the effect of a glossy lip without all the goupyness a lip gloss brings. Creamsicle is a very muted peach, almost like a sherbet drink or something. It's a muted version of the Lime Crime Cosmopop lipstick (which I have and will be reviewing) but I do like Creme Brule better. Then again, I'm a Revlon fan so I generally like a lot of their products! What are you guys wearing this Spring/Summer?

Lip Care

Since I have frequently chapped lips I'm trying to take better care of them, especially since going on vacation where I was exposed to sun and whatnot. I normally apply some lip product every night before going to sleep. So, I've been exploring some options and here is what I have. These are the three I've stuck to. I've had lip balms, chapsticks, you name it, throughout all my life and I've never stuck to any of them. Flavor balms, yucky sticky ones, nothing ever stuck but these three. Here is what I have to say:

Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula- This one is by far my favorite. It smells like chocolate, taste sweet and it does what it's meant to do. It's not sticky nor greasy and it lasts a long time. This keeps my lips soft and in good shape. It's also what I apply before wearing matte lipsticks.

Nivea Vitamin Swirl- This one I've had for a couple of months and is ok but not great. it's a bit greasy for my taste and it doesn't soften my lips enough. It does smell good and you get a very good amount of product. Plus, it has SPF10 which is good.

Carmex Lip Balm- This was another of my favorite until I got an allergic reaction. Nothing bad, though! I did have to stop using it but it did wonders to my lips before the reaction. What I mean is, you may not get the allergic reaction so this is a good pick! I'd still use it if I could. It's great, it soften and soothes the lips and it lasts a really long time providing moisture to your lips. I'm gonna miss it.

Having products that protect your lips is very important. Any sort of lip protection you favor is a must in your make-up bag and you should apply it daily to keep your lips in shape. Of course, finding new products and trying them out is always fun for me, so if you have any suggestions feel free to let me know.

Baby Lips

After hearing and hearing about the Maybelline Baby Lips I decided to go ahead and check them out. I got two of the six colors. I got Grape Vine and Peach Kiss, and I genuinely like them both. It's not a product I'm crazy about, but I like it. I don't feel I wasted money. It's a good alternative to substitute lipsticks if you don't want to go all out, especially for uni days. Grape Vine leaves your lips looking like you ate a lollipop, giving that bitten effect and the color is slightly build-able. For Peach Kiss, I tend to use it before applying MAC's Honey Love lipstick and then I use a bit on top. I think it's a good combo to keep my lips moisturized all day. Do I recommend them? Sure, if you're still hesitant on using full on lipsticks or to use them for school. Again, they aren't amazing but they are good.
