My Style Memoir Pt. 1

Sitting today here I noticed how much my style and likes have changed slowly. I then decided to take my time out of each month to sit down and analyze my own personal style, how its changed and my way of thinking.

From the beginning my style was a 'Closet' style. I was like any other, too afraid of dressing like I felt like because I was too scared about what people would think once I was out the door. I always found myself second guessing my outfit, and I know people think it's stupid but what you wear helps you find confidence. It helped me. There has to come a day where you personally say enough is enough and start to dress however you want to. It's not an easy process, trust me I went through it. But once you get past it, it's easier and it's like the real you is out in the open and fuck whoever doesn't like it.

Now, on to my style and ending my sorrows of the past. My style is ever changing. I don't tend to pay too much attention to trends when incorporating it to MY personal outfits (I do pay attention for review wise). I don't follow trend religiously. Why should I? Trends come and go and I don't wish to find myself having items of clothing I don't like anymore because they're "out of season". So I like to think of myself as being a one man boat (or yacht, heh) on this ever changing sea of fascinating trends and styles, eras and future eras. Har, har. Corny as it sounds, it's pretty accurate.

I tend to drift to dark colours, adding a bit of a pop on colour with my accessories. Black is a safe colour, it can't betray you... much. I personally LIKE black, apart from it being safe. Black is my friend, we are the best of buds. Although I admit I sweat like a man (THANKS DAD!) and I stray away from bright colours for blouses... Anyway, I like the edgy look. The show stopper. Combat boots, spikes, weird bits and bobs. I like the weird, only the weird can't be found here in this island. Sigh~

Anyway, that's all for now! Hope you enjoyed it! Stay tuned for more analysis on my own style and advice on how to break out of that style closet!

Bit of a collective haul

Since it's 'Back to School' season one must take advantage of these sales and pick up a few things. I recently signed contract with Forever 21 so I had to stock up on clothing so I can wear to school and work. Thankfully Zara was having an amazing sale for tops at $10! I usually put off shopping until sales like these come around, so I was truly happy to get some very nice pieces. Also, Old Navy had a sale. Now, usually I don't go to Old Navy unless I need essentials and nothing fancy, but I did like the dusty blue v-neck and gold tear drop necklace which were both at $5.

Also bought a bit of make-up (all drugstore items). I'll review them once I try them enough to form a proper opinion. Then I got a pair of Dolce Vita black buckle strap sandals for much less than usually sold, which you can see them being worn in the previous post. Do keep in mind that all of this is a collective haul and I did not just up and go on a shopping spree.

I'm still alive, just very busy. I'll be uploading very soon, but for now just some pictures I took of an easy everyday lazy outfit. Enjoy!

Tip of the hat

So, in a fit of rampage, I decided to finally cut my hair. The ends of my long hair were demented! They were just too damaged to handle anymore. Then the heat here was just unbearable and also the length made it get stuck everywhere. So yeah, I had it cut.

I've never had much problem with cutting hair, life goes on and hair grows back. Sure, I'd been trying to grow it out for a while but, what's  the point of long hair if it's damaged? Sure, it was a bit of a shock to go from lower back length hair to mid neck length, but it was a nice revealed shock. Feels good, man.

In other wonderful news, I was interviewed at Forever 21. It was a surprise and last minute, but with some help I was asked to come back, the same day I gave my resume, for an interview with some other girls. I was obviously unprepared since I just went to leave my resume, but I managed. I think I did good and thankfully I was properly dressed. Even if I'm not called, I'm just happy to have gotten a chance to an interview. That's it for now guys, I hope you're all well!

Nude Lips

I've always loved the nude lips trend, thought it was very chic and clean. However, I never thought I could pull it off since I have berry coloured lips. Every "nude" lipstick I tried on just drowned me out and make me look sick. I pretty much had given up on the idea of using nude lips but all I needed to do was mix nude lipsticks together to make my perfect nude lip colour.
