MAC | Honey Love Alternative

There's seriously nothing better than finding a dupe or alternative to a higher end product. Especially when the alternative is way cheaper. In this case I found an alternative for MAC's Honey Love (my favorite nude lipstick). I say alternative because its a similar color but a bit darker, making it not a dupe. Anyway, I'm talking about Wet n' Wild's Bare It All (902C) matte lipstick. I mean, the similarities are very close, especially when applied. Plus, the price is less than $3 compared to $14.50! Bargaaaaaaain~

The texture of both is matte, although the Bare It All is a bit more drying on the lips than Honey Love. As I said, Bare It All is a bit darker than Honey Love but they both have that pink undertone. These are the types of nude that I find fit my lips and skin tone best. I still prefer Honey Love over Bare It All but its always nice to find a cheaper alternative. For those who like Honey Love but don't which to spend the money, you can check out the Wet n' Wild one. Regardless, you get a very flattering nude.

NARS | Honolulu Honey

I caved and bought my first NARS lipstick and I can safely say, I may not buy more. It's not that I hate it, it's just not worth $24. Anyway, the color is one that I loved so much on Jen from Clothes Encounters called Honolulu Honey. The color is a muted peach/nude. It reminds me of how Lime Crimes Cosmo Pop looks when you blot it. It's a somewhat satin texture that doesn't dry the lips. I love the color, it gives such a lovely nude color to my lips, but the wear I get out of this is not impressive at all. I keep having to re-touch it every hour or two. I don't regret buying it but as much as I love the color I refuse to spend $24 more on it. I can't help but sometime feel NARS is a bit overpriced.

What do you guys think of their lipsticks?

Top Shop Lipstick | Desert

'Sup, guys? Hope you're all well. Today I bring you a small review of a Top Shop lipstick I got from a blog sale. First of all, I love me some blog sales. It's the perfect opportunity to get things for a much more affordable price. Anyway, this is my first Top Shop lipstick ever. I know they're not expensive in the store but I want to actually check them out in person rather than buy them online (this being a special case, being a blog sale and all). First thing i noticed was the fruity smell it has. I'm not fond of it but it's something I can handle. Plus, the smell doesn't stay when you apply it. This is a very soft lipstick. Not quite creamy, just soft and a bit velvety. It does go on a bit streaky but there is just something about this lipstick that I love. Maybe I'm being biased, I don't know. I love the subtle nude color and I like how it makes my lips soft. This is something i carry in my make up bag for mellow days. Definitely happy I was able to get this on a sale.

NYX | Soft Matte Lip Cream in London

Hey, guys! Super quick review of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams in London. I've seen these in generally youtube videos and was intrigued by them but I could never get my hands on them. Whilst in Walmart I saw a couple and the beau got me this nude one in London. The finish is obviously matte and reminds me a lot of how MAC matte lipsticks feel. Drying but nothing I can't handle but I generally apply a balm around 15min before applying any type of lip product. The color pay off is really nice and it's something I reach for on a day I want to have a more natural and fresh looking face. It lasts a long time, but considering it's matte it's to be expected. I'm dying to get my hands on more colors and for $3 you can't go wrong. I definitely recommend these guys and I'm very happy with mine.

Cosmetics Company Store Review

Hi, guys! This is another mini California haul. This time it was in an outlet mall in Napa where I found a store called Cosmetics Company Store, which sold brand name make-up for less. One thing I did notice is they had a lot of stuff which was limited edition hence forth already sold out from either Sephora or Mac, etc. I'm not very familiar with Bobbi Brown, Clinique, Smachbox, etc but I do know MAC and they had products from the Villain, Cute and Gareth Pugh collection which aren't sold anymore. Next thing I noticed were the price reductions, which I was very, very happy about.

The lady that worked there was very nice but knew very little about the treasure chest she had in her hands. After roaming around I chose to get 3 products. The MAC blush I loved, since I had been looking for a good nude-ish blush for so long. And I was also able to purchase and try for the first time a Bobbi Brown product. However, the huge find of the day was the Tom Ford Black Orchid lipstick, which I think is discontinued, and it was $30 rather that $50. It was still a bit expensive for my taste but I had been yearning this lipstick and I just couldn't pass on the chance to have it. I have yet to worn it, I'm too scared and I just end up looking at it all day...pathetic, eh? Anyway, here is my review of all the products.
Although I have yet to try the TF lippie on myself, I did swatch it. I can't say much about the wear and so on, but while swatching it the liptick went on very smoothly. The pigmentation is lovely and I'm just a sucker for the brown colors in it. I can't wait until it's fall and winter to wear it!
The MAC blush is from the Villains collection and it's called 'Her Own Devices'. This is the blush with Cruella Deville on it and as always the packaging is very lovely and sleek. As for pigmentation, it is a very subtle pigment and exactly what I was looking for. It's a blush I reach for whenever I wish to have a more nude cheek and I find this, and the Tarte Exposed blush, is perfect for that look.
This Bobbi Brown Lip and Cheek pot is No.6 Powder Pink, it's a very lovely color on the lips without being to dark. The pigmentation is lovely although I've yet to try it on my cheeks. As for the wear, I did notice it wore off pretty quickly for my taste which is very sad since it's a lovely color.

Nude Obsession

I think I've made it pretty clear that I'm having an unhealthy obsession with anything nude colored. To think that I once was against it since I thought I couldn't pull it off. You know the hate-something-because-you-can't-have-it syndrome? Yeah, that one. Now I go crazy and I'm more daring to try out nudes. Last time I wrote about nudes I was on the look out for a nude blush, which I found and will write a review later!

Spring Trend: Lip Color

As my second part of my Spring Trend picks, I chose the lips. To me lipstick is another huge accessory that completes my look. Without it I tend to feel naked. I know people would probably go for bright bold colors for spring, but I'm leaning more towards nude looks. With the exception of my red Ruby Woo & Nicki Minaj lipstick, my picks are more subtle and in a way peaceful. What are your lipstick picks for this Spring?
Beach Sand, Honey Love, Shy Girl, Ravishing
Ruby Woo, Viva Glam Nicki
