Etude House | Precious Mineral BB Cream

By far the best BB cream + foundation I've tried up until now.  I bought this with the sole purpose of it providing moisture while I was in Colorado and have been using it ever since. The first time I saw this BB cream was when Martina, from Eat Your Kimchi, talked about it. I was impressed how amazing her skin looked because it seemed like just that... skin.

So many times I've loved a foundation and later on hated it because it caked or just didn't look natural. When I tried my first Asian BB cream, the Skin 79 one, I vowed never to use western foundations ever again. I'm proud to say I've done just that and my skin tends to behave more, even on that time of the month. However, the Etude House Mineral BB cream is less ash-y that the Skin 79 bb cream. The Etude BB cream looks very natural on my skin, providing a dewy finish that leaves my skin looking healthy and not like a disco ball. It provides me with moisture and a very impressive coverage. Its perfect for everyday use and I'm so damn happy I got it.

I truly recommend this products if you're looking for an easy, comfortable and natural looking base. Also keeping in mind that the coverage is light/medium, so those looking for a full coverage should maybe avoid this. Also, the skin range is based on Asian skin tones so those with darker skin tones wont be able to use this. However, maybe with the popularity increase they might broaden their skin tone range. I hope so because the finish this gives would look divine on a darker skin tone.

Here's the video where I first saw this product:

Playing With Purple | Eyes

I seldom use purple eyeshadows, even though they compliment brown eyes, I just don't seem drawn to them. However, feeling adventurous I decided to have some fun with one look and two lip colors.
I still don't think purple will be a permanent color for my shadow usage, but it's definitely something I'll be keeping in mind.

How Much Is My Face Worth (Eek!)

Let me start by saying how deeply ashamed I feel with the numbers I came up with. I thought this would be a fun post but it's definitely not when you're staring at the end results. I'm definitely putting the brakes on make up until further notice! What will I write about? Oh, I have some plans. Anyway, here we go!
  •   Formula 10.0.6- $7
  • BB Cream- $30
  • Reve de Miel- $20
  • NARS Laguna- $34 (I don't use this everyday but I still wanted to add it)
  • MSF Soft & Gentle- $30
  • Blush Tenderling- $20
  • Tarte Setting Powder- FREE (sample)
  • Bare Study Cream Shadow- $18.50
  • Rimmel Brow Pen- $3
  • Mascara- $8
  • Lipstick Honey Love- $14.50
This all comes down to a whopping $185! What is this! What have I done! Someone kick me in the arse because that is not okay. Bad, Ivonne! BAD! BAD! Sigh~ The sad part is this is a no make up, make up look. You'd expect I'd look more made up for $185!
Anyway, how much is your face worth?
Beware, you might end up like me... curled up into a ball in a dark corner crying.

My Top 3 Foundations

Skin 79 BB Cream $30- I've already written a review about this but I cannot rave enough on how much I love this BB cream. This gives me a very good coverage perfect for day to day while providing me with SPF50+ that feels light on my skin. Even though the texture of the BB cream itself is rather thick, it blends into the skin and just works with it. This is something I can definitely rely on to make me look like a million bucks.

Clinique Perfectly Real Make-Up $25- This is a very light weight foundation that is something I reach for when I'm going for a very minimal make-up face. Sometimes when I need to run errands and I don't want a full face of make-up but don't want to be completely without this is a foundation I reach for and slap on quickly.

NARS Sheer Glow $42- This was the big splurge that was very well thought of. This is that foundation you have for special occasions. It's a medium to full coverage so it's not ideal for a day to day usage, but perfect for a special night. It does give a lovely glow to the skin and it's easy to blend out. However one does have to be careful because it does have a tendency to cake so blotting is necessary.

Skin 79 | BB Cream

Where do I even start? This is amazing. No, this is revolutionary... to me anyway. I'd been having some skin issues lately and decided to man up and finally get a true Korean BB cream instead of the ones being made now by other companies. After looking up some of the most known BB creams I chose Skin 79 Triple Functions BB cream from Pretty and Cute for $30. I chose this one since it's the one for oily skin. I had to research a bit more since they have a lot of BB creams and they all sound so good. Anyway, I decided to play it safe and start with this one.

I tried this and was a bit apprehensive since it's a really fair color, but it blends in perfectly after applied. I'm not sure how it photographs with flash yet though. A little does go a long way and it has a thick texture. One it's on and you blend it you have a healthy looking skin and you don't even feel the BB cream. My face felt super light but I looked fresh and lit from within. My skin has not broken out, it has actually gotten better and less dull looking sans make-up. The SPF is heaven sent and I'm so happy it has it. The oil control is normal. I do have the same problem on my T-zone but i didn't expect much. This is my daily foundation per say now. I'm leaving my other foundations for special occasions now.

Downside is that this is the only color it comes in. I don't think darker skin tones would blend well with this, however checking to see other BB creams is a must. Most BB creams have a gray tint that blends out well, so research is key. I'm beyond happy with this product and I will definitely be sticking to Korean BB creams from now on. I'm aware paying a bit more for better quality on something I put in my face is a must. This product is worth it in my opinion and I'm so damn happy I decided to get it. Can't wait to try out more!
