The New French

I saw a video today by the lovely Lisa Eldrige, a professional make-up artist, on how french nails are out in the UK and that new french's are in. Although I've always liked french nails because they look clean and elegant, I do have to admit that lately they've gotten tacky. However, I found a new solution and after seeing the video I decided to try it. I'm actually very happy with the result.

Pattern Blocking

Something I've been meaning to try is pattern blocking. If you don't know what that is then let me explain. It's simple, it's when you mix different patterns in one outfit. For example: imagine using a floral skirt with a stripped top. Simple. Now, since I always test the water before jumping (well, sometimes) I decided to do a small doable take on it.

I simply took a baby pink dotted button blouse and paired it up with a cotton black/white blazer. It was comfortable, casual and also interesting to look at. It's different yet doable for those who like to keep it simple and not over do it.

Bits & Bobs...

Does it feel like I'm M.I.A? 'Cause to me it does... Anyway, been busy with work and school, but enjoy a bit of a collective haul (nothing big)! I give a big thanks to Momo, she got me the Fox in a Box 'Skinny Dipping' Duo blusher which you can't get here in PR (and I wanted desperately).

Karl Lagerfeld for Macy's

When I first was told about this by a friend my initial reaction was shock. Then full on love. I truly hope it comes to our Macy's here in P.R, because I can't miss this! The collection consists on very flirty and somewhat edgy clothing. All very wearable, hence being in Macy's. Full on statement collars and even a Karl necklace, which I need. Very dusty colours, and black and white which is a definite yes on my part. I'm severely stocked for this collection to get here! Can't wait for it!

Forever on my wish-list...

I have finally found the one item I would definitely splurge on, if I had the money.  The most beautiful pair of boots I have ever laid my eyes on. I swear, from the 1st moments I saw them, when they 1st came out, I was madly in love with them! I'm talking about the Balenciaga S/S 2011 cutout boots. Need I say more?
Yeah, yeah. I know J. Cambell came out with the Roscoe look alike, but you cannot simply replace the originals. The quality, the beauty and the uniqueness. Squeal~ I just can't get enough. I literally drool each time I see them. If only I had $1,275 lying around here somewhere. Man, I wish I had them. Oh man... I could cry. I shall now retreat to my little hole of sadness. Till the next post!

 Hope you're all well!

Ps: My birthday is in December. (Hint, hint)

My Style Memoir Pt. 1

Sitting today here I noticed how much my style and likes have changed slowly. I then decided to take my time out of each month to sit down and analyze my own personal style, how its changed and my way of thinking.

From the beginning my style was a 'Closet' style. I was like any other, too afraid of dressing like I felt like because I was too scared about what people would think once I was out the door. I always found myself second guessing my outfit, and I know people think it's stupid but what you wear helps you find confidence. It helped me. There has to come a day where you personally say enough is enough and start to dress however you want to. It's not an easy process, trust me I went through it. But once you get past it, it's easier and it's like the real you is out in the open and fuck whoever doesn't like it.

Now, on to my style and ending my sorrows of the past. My style is ever changing. I don't tend to pay too much attention to trends when incorporating it to MY personal outfits (I do pay attention for review wise). I don't follow trend religiously. Why should I? Trends come and go and I don't wish to find myself having items of clothing I don't like anymore because they're "out of season". So I like to think of myself as being a one man boat (or yacht, heh) on this ever changing sea of fascinating trends and styles, eras and future eras. Har, har. Corny as it sounds, it's pretty accurate.

I tend to drift to dark colours, adding a bit of a pop on colour with my accessories. Black is a safe colour, it can't betray you... much. I personally LIKE black, apart from it being safe. Black is my friend, we are the best of buds. Although I admit I sweat like a man (THANKS DAD!) and I stray away from bright colours for blouses... Anyway, I like the edgy look. The show stopper. Combat boots, spikes, weird bits and bobs. I like the weird, only the weird can't be found here in this island. Sigh~

Anyway, that's all for now! Hope you enjoyed it! Stay tuned for more analysis on my own style and advice on how to break out of that style closet!
